Whoever writes the scripts plays games with them:

It’s me all right, very intensely me
but I’m in some different stories from the daytime ones
and you’re there too—I’d know you anywhere—
but it’s often another town and you pretend
to be someone else I know or used to know.
The places assure us we know where we are and then
we take a turn and don’t know where although
we’ve always lived there and,
waking up,
we know it was wrong. Or was it? We’re not sure.
